Rx Spectramast LC 10ml Intramammary Suspension for Lactating Cows – 12 ct

SPECTRAMAST® LC (ceftiofur intramammary suspension) is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic formulated for flexible treatment of clinical and subclinical mastitis in lactating dairy cattle. Designed to provide the best chance of bacteriological cure, SPECTRAMAST LC can be used for two to eight consecutive days, allowing veterinarians and dairy producers to tailor therapy to the severity of each mastitis case.

Features:

  • Flexible once-daily dosing for 2–8 days to address mild, moderate, or stubborn mastitis cases
  • Effective against coagulase-negative staphylococci, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, and Escherichia coli (E. coli)
  • Short milk discard of 72 hours for rapid return to production
  • Shortest meat withdrawal in the class: 2 days for greater management flexibility
  • High efficacy: research shows 70.4% bacteriological cure rate with just two syringes
  • Improves health outcomes, lowers recurrence, and reduces mastitis-related culls and deaths
  • Disposable 10 mL syringes for safe and convenient intramammary infusion

Benefits:

  • Reduces mastitis-related financial losses – research shows $204 per head savings in treated cows
  • Promotes rapid bacteriological and clinical cure of nonsevere Gram-negative mastitis
  • Allows dairy producers to extend therapy up to 8 days if needed for stubborn infections
  • Supports herd health and overall milk quality

Directions:

Infuse the entire contents of one 10 mL syringe into each affected quarter. Repeat once daily for up to 2 days, or extend to 8 days for more persistent cases. Follow these steps:

  1. Wash teats thoroughly and remove all visible organic matter.
  2. Dip teats in an NMC-approved teat disinfectant and dry with individual towels or paper towels.
  3. Milk out the udder completely.
  4. Use the provided alcohol pad to wipe each teat end (separate pad for each teat).
  5. Choose insertion length (full or partial), insert the syringe tip into the teat canal, push plunger to dispense entire contents, and gently massage the quarter to distribute the suspension.

Active Ingredient:

Ceftiofur hydrochloride – broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic

Pack Size:

12 x 10 mL disposable syringes

Important Safety Information:

Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillin or cephalosporins. Follow milk and meat withdrawal periods (72 hours milk discard, 2-day meat withdrawal). Use only as directed on the label or by a veterinarian to prevent violative residues.
